I was brought on by Cirque du Soleil to build a prop for one of their productions coming up. It is a Disney production and there is a sequence where a music box (inspired by Gepetto's workshop from Disney's Pinocchio) is interacted with and the characters on the music box, come to life.

The build required the box to have a working crank and for me to replace the characters from the cartoon, with characters that were designed by the Cirque artists.

This build took a lot more time than I truly could have imagined. All things considered, it was a great experience but I am glad that it is behind me.

I just wish I could have been on set with the crew, working on some of the stage props as well.

Anyway, I will try to give a summary of how the box was created from start to finish with as many images as I have.
