Cirque Du Soleil Fabrication Shop, LV

At the RSD Fab Shop in Las Vegas, Nevada, I was lucky to be a part of a very talented team. The Fab Shop was created to service the 6 Residency Shows in Las Vegas, as well as the Affiliate partners like V-Star and America's Got Talent.

I was hired as a props/paint fabrication artist to assist with the repair and building of props within the Residence Shows (Michael Jackson One, Mystere, O, Ka, Mad Apple, Beatle LOVE and the Blue Man Group).

We also had the opportunity to help create the new residency show Auana, located in Waikiki, Hawaii on the Island of Oahu.

Many of the projects for Cirque du Soleil were repairs/refurbishments but there were some props that we build from scratch.

The MJ1 Solo Wheels were updated with a different structural design which then changed the look and placement of the sunburst and reflective designs. My counterpart did much of the work to get these to a finished point and I added my time to complete some as well.

We stretched rawhide to create the skins that we painted for the Sperm Drums in Mystere.

The CNC Fabrication specialist cut out the plastic pieces for the Blue Man Group Crunch Boxes. We then constructed these boxes and then adhered the decals.

Most of the scenery and props were fabricated in our shop. Some of the primary focuses that I had were the Tiki Torch elements, The Maui Fish, the Lanterns, Skater Platform and Petals, and the stage Proscenium and walls.
